Iran: Quake jolts Sarbisheh in eastern province of South Khorassan

Tehran, Nov 25, IRNA-A mild earthquake measuring 3.8 on the Richter scale hit the city of Sarbisheh in the eastern province of South Khorassan Thursday night.

According to the Mashhad Seismological Network, affiliated to the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, the quake occurred at 22:42 hours local time (1912 GMT).

The tremor was felt in an area measuring 59.50 degrees in longitude and 32.17 degrees in latitude, the report added.

There are no reports of any casualty or damage to property.

Quakes of varying magnitudes often occur in Iran, which is situated on some of the world's most active seismic fault lines.
