Tehran, Nov 27, IRNA-Iraq's First Vice President Adel Abdul Mahdi, heading a high-ranking political and economic delegation, arrived here on Sunday on an official visit.
Upon his arrival at Mehrabad International Airport, the Iraqi official was welcomed by Deputy Foreign Minister for Euro-American Affairs Saeed Jalili.
During his stay, the Iraqi official is scheduled to hold talks with Jalili and several other officials of the country.
Abdul Mahdi is the third senior Iraqi official who has visited Iran in the past ten days.
Iraq's President Jalal Talabani and the country's National Security Advisor Mowafaq al-Rubai had already visited Tehran.
During his three-day visit, Iraq's vice president will visit the holy city of Mashhad to pay tribute to Imam Reza (AS), the eighth Imam of the Prophet Mohammad's (PBUH) household.
