Baku, Nov 28, IRNA-Iran's Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki arrived in this Azerbaijani capital Monday for a one-day official visit.
Upon arrival, the minister said the aim of the visit was to "strengthen relations, bolster bilateral cooperation and put stress on implementing agreements" already signed between the two neighbors.
Mottaki touched on "positive developments in relations between Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan".
"In this visit, new steps will be taken in order to provide better grounds for enforcement of the two countries' agreements," he said.
The Iranian minister is expected to meet Azeri President Elham Aliyev and Foreign Minister Elmar Mamedyarov as well as other officials to discuss ways of bolstering of bilateral cooperation.
Mottaki is also to pay a similar visit to Turkey on Wednesday as part of the new government of President Ahmadinejad's policy to expand "regional cooperation", Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid Reza Asefi said Sunday.
