Tehran, Oct 1, IRNA-Iran finished fourth at the 37th Asian Senior Men's Weightlifting Championships in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, Friday.
Winning six golds and five silvers (474 points), Iran followed champion Kazakhstan, runner-up China, and third-placed China, which collected 557, 527, 497 points.
Japan and Taiwan ranked fifth and sixth with 295 and 284 points respectively.
The world and Olympic +105 kg record holder Hossein Rezazadeh from Iran stole the show on the final day at the Al Wasl Club's Rashid Bin Hamdan Indoor Sports Hall.
Supported by a huge crowd of Iranians, the beefy lifter easily took three golds in the heavyweight category.
The cherubic-faced Rezazadeh hoisted 200 kg in snatch to leave the silver medal for Qatar's Jaber Saeed, who lifted 190 kg. The bronze went to Khalilovi from Uzbekistan with a 180 kg mark.
Rezazadeh, as before, proved too strong for opponents in the clean-and-jerk contests.
Saeed finished runner-up when he locked 232 kg above his head and Khalilovi bagged bronze by lifting 220 kg.
A cool-headed Rezazadeh hoisted 250 and 260 kg in his second and third attempts to show that he is getting ready for improving his own record in the world event in Qatar next month.
"I am progressing and showing good performances in every championship. I worked very hard in the last six years to become one of the world champions. I train every day for five hours. I am always eager to score much better results than what I achieved before," said Rezazadeh after he snatched three golds.
Rezazadeh, who was named `Best Man Lifter', said he is ready for the world competitions in Qatar, adding, "I am always ready for participating in championships. I will do my best in Qatar to win medals and break records."
The other three golds of Iran came as Asghar Ebrahimi scooped the glittering medals in snatch, clean and jerk, and total categories.
In 96 kg, Ali Dehqanian from Iran won two silvers and his teammate, Mohsen Biranvand, added three silvers by finishing runner-up in 105 kg class.
