Tehran, Oct 5, IRNA-A tremor with the magnitude of 3.8 on he open-ended Richter scale shook the outskirts of Minab city in Hormuzgan province at 17:09 hours local time (13:39GMT) on Wednesday.
Tehran Seismographic Center said the quake was registered at 27.14 degrees latitude and 57.02 degrees longitude.
No report is yet available on possible damage to life or property caused by the quake.
Iran is situated on some of the world's most active seismic fault lines and quakes of varying magnitudes are of usual occurrence.
