Berlin, Oct 14 , IRNA-The German government here Friday welcomed Iran's call for the resumption of nuclear talks with the European Union (EU).
"The EU 3 (Germany, France, Britain) are ready to enter in a dialogue (with Iran) on the basis of the Paris accord and the latest International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) resolution and welcome everything which is going in that direction," German Foreign Ministry Spokesman Jens Ploetner told IRNA.
He was reacting to Iran's readiness to resume negotiations with the three European countries on its nuclear program.
According to an Iranian Foreign Ministry press release, the Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to resume talks with the three European countries aimed at "creating trust with regards to the Iranian nation's certain right to pursue a civilian nuclear program within the legal framework of the international atomic energy ..." Tehran has reiterated its nuclear program is only for peaceful purposes, calling on the IAEA to finally close Iran's nuclear dossier.
