Tehran, Oct 18, IRNA-An earthquake measuring 3.7 on the Richter scale hit the city of Lar in the southern province of Fars Tuesday morning.
According to the Fars Seismological Network affiliated to Tehran University's Geophysics Institute, the quake occurred at 06:37 hours local time (03.07 GMT).
According to the report, the tremor was felt in an area measuring 54.30 degrees in longitude and 27.92 degrees in latitude.
There are no reports of any casualty or damage to property.
Quakes of varying magnitudes often occur in Iran, which is situated on some of the world's most active seismic faultlines.
