Semnan, Oct 23, IRNA-An earthquake measuring 3.6 on the Richter scale hit the city of Shahroud in the northeastern province of Semnan Sunday morning.
According to the Semnan Seismological Network, affiliated to Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, the quake occurred at 09:24 hours local time (0554 GMT).
The tremor was felt in an area measuring 55.01 degrees in longitude and 36.51 degrees in latitude, the report added.
There are no reports of any casualty or damage to property.
Quakes of varying magnitudes often occur in Iran, which is situated on some of the world's most active seismic fault lines.
