Moscow, Oct 25, IRNA -Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said in Moscow on Monday that the security of Caspian Sea should be provided by the littoral states.
"The presence of foreign forces is cause of instability in the region." Speaking at a press conference in Moscow, he added that the Americans are interested in gaining a foothold in many parts of the world and think of these regions as their own backyard.
He said he had constructive talks with Russian officials on bilateral and regional cooperation on Caspian Sea as well as its security and environment.
"Iran has offered positive proposals on Caspian security which will be implemented with the participation of the landlocked sea's littoral states."
Elsewhere in his statements, he added that suspension of Uranium enrichment was a voluntary step by Tehran.
Iran views peaceful use of nuclear program as its legitimate right nd is ready to offer confidence building measures over the issue, Mottaki added.
"We also had discussions with Russian officials on the nuclear activities and the two sides concur that Iran's nuclear dossier hould be resolved within the framework of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and not be referred to any other organization.
"We have also agreed on a completion time-table and start of operation date of the Bushehr nuclear powerplant," he stated.
"We hope that the Bushehr nuclear powerplant will offer a model of cooperation between the two countries."
Mottaki left Moscow for Tehran Monday night. He held extensive talks with Russian foreign minister on regional and international developments during his stay in Moscow.
