Rahim Mashayi, new director of Iran's Cultural Heritage and Tourism Organization, announced his support for all foreign tourism investments.
Tehran, 4 September 2005 (CHN) - The newly appointed director of Iran's Cultural Heritage and Tourism Organization, Esfandiar Rahim Mashayi, told CHN yesterday that he is one hundred percent supporting foreign investments in Iran's tourism sector, including those for constructing hotels.
The announcement comes in a time when many foreign investors seem dubious of signing contracts with Iranian counterparts due to the new conditions in Iran. Many of the investors in Iran's tourism sector have targeted hotel construction in the country, and some including famous names such as Intercontinental and Accor have already signed contracts with Iranian officials.
Rahim Mashayi not only accepts but is evidently eager to have foreign capitals invested in Iran, "Who doesn't like others to come forward for investment!?"
Rahim Mashayi announcement of ICHTO supporting all foreign investments in Iran tourism sector in accordance with laws of the Islamic Republic of Iran now seems to be a promise of a bright future for the tourism sector of the country and those such as officials of Ritz-Carlton hotels who had postponed their trip to Iran in the midst of the presidential election.
