Tehran, Sept 5, IRNA-A relatively strong earthquake measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale hit the city of Kashan in the central province of Isfahan Monday.
According to the seismological base of the Geophysics Institute affiliated to the Tehran University, the quake occurred at 14:00 hours local time (09:30 GMT).
The report added the quake was registered at an area located in 51.89 degrees longitude and 33.97 degrees latitude.
No reports have yet been available on possible damage to life or property.
Quakes of varying magnitudes are of usual occurrence in Iran, which lies on one of the world's most active seismic fault lines.
