Tehran, Sept 13, IRNA-An earthquake measuring 3.8 on the Richter scale hit the city of Raz in the northeastern province of North Khorasan Monday night.
Qouchan Seismography Network, affiliated to Tehran University Geophysics Institute, said the quake occurred at 23:23 hours local time (1853 GMT).
The report added the tremor was registered in an area located in 57.24 degrees longitude and 38.20 degrees latitude.
No reports have yet been available on possible damage to property.
Quakes of varying magnitudes are of usual occurrence in Iran, which lies on one of the world's most active seismic fault lines.
