Tehran, Sept 25, IRNA-An earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale hit the city of Ilam in the western province by the same name Sunday.
According to the seismological base of Tehran University's Geophysics Institute, the quake occurred at 11:04 hours local time (07.34 GMT).
According to the report, the tremor was felt in an area measuring 45.93 degrees in longitude and 23.61 degrees in latitude.
There are no reports of any casualty or damage to property.
Quakes of varying magnitudes often occur in Iran, which is situated on some of the world's most active seismic faultlines.
