Depleted by the absence of injury-sidelined Mohammad Torkashvand, Iran lost 22-25 25-14 29-27 23-25 12-15.

Earlier in the day, Qatar handed underdog Australia a straight-sets defeat, ranking seventh.

India and South Korea are scheduled to fight for the third spot and Japan and China clash for the top title Tuesday afternoon.
