Persian Gulf Tourism Confab ends on Qeshm Island

Qeshm Island, Sept 28, IRNA-The Persian Gulf Tourism Conference held simultaneously in Tehran and Qeshm ended on the island on Tuesday evening.

On the occasion of the International Tourism Day (September 27), 250 female and male students left Tehran for the Persian Gulf Area, including Qeshm Island to get acquainted with the area's tourist attractions.

During the tour, which was mainly organized to revive the name of the Persian Gulf and introduce the tourist attractions of the island and the Persian Gulf to students, the visiting group were taken to Hora Forests.

According to environmentalists, about 1.5 percent of the world birds and 25 percent of Iran's native birds annually migrate to Hora Forests.

Meanwhile, the students inspected the Portuguese Castle, a monument dating back to Portugal's colonial era on the island and the historical Kharbes Caves.

The conference held simultaneously in Tehran and Qeshm was organized jointly by University Jihad, Tehran University, Hormuzgan University, Foundation of Iranology and Iran's Cultural Heritage and Tourism Organization.
