Some of the countries in the region where Iran is located have limitations in their fuel supplies while others are short of the expert human resources, therefore our country should by making use of the potentials surpass them, the Persian service of Iranian Students News Agency ISNA quoted Mas'ud Hojjat, as saying on Monday.
He added that in order to increase our power production capacity and capabilities and as a result increasing the exports of the commodity, we have no other way than to speed up the process of building new power stations.
Therefore, in our bid to enhance our electricity production and distribution potentials we should facilitate the private sector's presence in the field and pave the ground for their investment, he said adding, transparency in granting subsidies to the electricity generation sector or even removing them which would lead to the real prices seemed necessary.
Commenting on the issue of exporting electricity to Europe, he stated that Tavanir was considering two possible routes for the project; one of which would be from Russia and the other being via Turkey. He further explained that the company was carrying further studies to find the best possible path.
