Target Iran: Revealing the Neo-cons Next Fatal Scheme
On Monday, April 24, 2006,
California Santa Cruz will
hold a day long event from 11:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. "The War on Terror: A Credible Threat"
will host a panel of prominent
speakers for a day of reflection on U.S. international policies and
university life. It is free and
open to the general public.
Speakers include the former U.S.
Ambassador Joseph Wilson whose report on the lack of weapons of mass destruction
in Iraq, specifically the lack of
nuclear capability, and his courageous criticism of the Bush Administration's
invasion plans, led to his dismissal from his post.
Soraya Sepahpour-Ulrich will represent
Campaign Against Sanctions and Military
Intervention in Iran (CASMII) in order to voice concerns over the growing
threats now directed against Iran. The talk will address why the
administration wants to attack Iran. The tactics it has employed thus far to
gather support both at home and abroad, and why it is contemplating using
tactical nuclear weapons. The talk
will emphasize the tragedy of such an action.
The "The War on
Terror: A Credible Threat" teach-in will take place at the Upper Quarry
Amphitheater on the UC Santa
Cruz campus. Follow signs to parking; purchase a $2
parking permit from the onsite attendant, who can direct you to the event
location. Map at http://maps.ucsc.edu/cdquarry.html.
