Tehran, April 25, IRNA-Following President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's directive allowing women to watch sporting events in stadiums, women from all walks of life have welcomed this and expressed their satisfaction with it.
Maryam Salari, a resident of west Tehran said the president's directive proved that he is going to keep his promises in dealing with women's affairs.
"The ban imposed by certain political groups on women's presence in stadiums has left negative impacts on the society and we hope the issue will be resolved by the directive," she said.
Nasrin Parsaei, another resident of the capital city, said it has been proved scientifically that watching matches can promote the learning of skills and women are no exception to this rule.
Before allowing women to attend stadiums, it is necessary that proper ethical conditions be prepared for female football fans, she said.
Khadijeh Sepanchi said the presence of women in such public places can help boost the morale of society because the opposite sex would try to behave politely in the presence of women.
