TEHRAN, July 31 (Mehr News Agency) -- Prominent Iranian sculptor Parviz Tanavoli plans to create a sculpture to show his sympathy for the Lebanese people who are currently suffering under the Israeli bombardment.
"Nowadays, the Lebanese people are in all my thoughts. Many ideas came to my mind. The silence of the West is shameful," Tanavoli told the Persian service of ISNA on Monday.
"Sure, I will create a work and present it to the Lebanese people. However, it's difficult to evoke both sympathy and hatred in a work," he added.
Tanavoli had previously created sculptures for the Afghan people and the prisoners of Guantanamo.
He is currently in Canada for an exhibition displaying his collection of metal tools at the Vancouver Museum.
Tanavoli is also scheduled to deliver a lecture at the International Conference on the Arts in Society, which is to be held from August 15 to 18 in Edinburgh, Scotland.
