Concern: The U.S. government’s language about, and politics
towards, Iran suggest that
Iran is vulnerable to further
U.S.-initiated tensions. The
American public is hearing a lot about Iran from the U.S. Government’s and U.S.
media’s perspective, however is deprived of easy access to the ideas about and
on Iran, from the perspectives of those most knowledgeable: the Iranians in
Iran, themselves.
Solution: To share a diverse collection of real,
Iran-based Iranian voices and perspectives with the American
public.

HERvoices: HERvoices, Inc. is a certified 501(c)(3)
non-profit, public charity organization dedicated to increasing global tolerance
by bringing the voices of normally-marginalized women and girls into the
mainstream, public dialogue through interactive, multi-media presentations. For more information about our work,
please see www.hervoices.org.
HERvoices: In
Iran
(working title, may change): Working together with Iranian American
women and girls, and others interested in Iran, HERvoices aims to collect and
compile personal testimonies from a diverse group of Iranian women and girls
living in Iran, and then carefully combine them into a sensitive and simple,
multi-media presentation that will be toured to schools and other community
groups around the U.S., and possibly other countries. The interviews are being collected for
the primary use in the multi-media presentation, however may also be made
available on-line and/or in print.
Interviewers: HERvoices is outreaching to Iranian
American women and girls, and others interested in Iran, to act as the interviewers of Iranian women
and girls living in Iran. Interviewers are responsible for
outreaching to, contacting, and interviewing the interviewees, as well as
recording and delivering the interviews, and other materials including
photographs, etc., to HERvoices, in a way that is respectful of HERvoices’
Interviewing Guidelines. To
become an interviewer, please contact HERvoices at 202-271-2869 or info@hervoices.org.
