TEHRAN, Aug. 4 (Mehr News Agency) - Iran has successfully managed through a $435,729,847.49 investment to export its car manufacturing industry to various countries, in particular Azerbaijan Republic, and now it is seeking to extend its assembly lines to the four continents, the Iranian Industries and Mines Minister Alireza Tahmasbi said in Tehran on Friday.
Iran for the first time has outlined the 20-Year Outlook Plan which will help push the country towards development in different economic, cultural, and social spheres, Fars News Agency quoted Tahmasbi as saying in a meeting of the Engineering Council of Iran.
Underlining the fact that the mines and industry sector should get a broad and encompassing look, he said," In setting the strategy of the country's industry we have considered the 20-Year Outlook Plan, trying to remove its shortcomings with the help of the Supreme Leader's office, the Expediency Council, the Mines and Industry Committee, and Majlis Research Center."
He emphasized the significance of the quantification of industrial and mineral ends done for the first time in the sector, adding, "Considering the country's major policies, there can be identified varying capabilities in maritime and high tech industries."
"It takes us to double our efforts to become the leading economic power of the region," the minister noted.
Considering the objectives set in the 20-Year Outlook Plan, he deemed the 5-6% growth as failure and unsatisfactory saying," the traditional view regarding the sector ought to go through a change, urging the investments to form a stable export network inclined towards seizing a sizable share in regional markets."
Happily in the first quarter of the current Iranian year (March 21-June 21) the country's exports rate in industrial sector increased by 70% compared to the corresponding period in the previous year, yet offering the exports via international networks is favored most, he said in conclusion.
