Tehran, Aug 7, IRNA-An earthquake measuring 3.7 on the Richter scale hit the outskirts of Gachsaran in the southwestern province of Kohgilouyeh-Boyer Ahmad Monday morning.
The seismological base of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University registered the quake at 09:24 hours local time (0554 GMT).
The quake was epicentered in an area measuring 30.60 degrees in latitude and 50.94 degrees in longitude.
There are no reports of any casualty or damage to property caused by the quake.
Iran is often hit by quakes of varying magnitudes as it sits on some of the world's most active seismic faultlines.
