IAPAC Seeks Full-Time Development Director

 
Washington DC - The Iranian American Political Action Committee (IAPAC) is seeking applications for the position of Development Director to plan and execute fund development activities for the organization. The Development Director assures that the organization’s culture, systems, and procedures support fund development and vice versa. He/she will lead staff, trustees, and volunteers to institutionalize fund development within the organization. The Development Director and his/her team will plan, coordinate, and assure the implementation of strategies to develop donor relations and maintain accountability and compliance standards.

Duties & Responsibilities:
The Development Director will report directly to the Board of Directors (the “Board”), or any Committees thereof as prescribed by the Board. The primary responsibilities of the Development Director will include:

· Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan for solicitation of annual contributions from the Iranian American community.

· Develop, schedule, and conduct regular donor appeals using face-to-face solicitation, volunteer committees, telephone, and direct mail strategies; manages special solicitations to targeted groups and in general, supports all fundraising efforts of the organization.

· Proactively identifies donor prospects and develops effective strategies for cultivation and solicitation; creates and maintains orderly files, records and reports; and is responsible for establishing and reaching annual fundraising goals and objectives.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Candidate must have the ability to work effectively-both in team environments and in self-directed situations; the ability to manage multiple projects and plan work to maximize efficiency; to maintain positive personal relationships in a broad range of situations; and to respect the confidentiality of donors. Knowledge of legislative and regulatory provisions governing federal campaign finance laws is not required but preferred. Prior experience within the political arena, particularly with political action committees and lobbying organizations, is strongly preferred.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from accredited university with strong writing, verbal, and message development skills. Persian fluency is not required but considered an advantage in selection of the successful applicant.

Compensation:
Salary commensurate with experience. Includes performance-based bonuses.
