Tehran, Aug 19, IRNA-Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki on Saturday underlined that the US unilateral approaches to and disregard for the world public opinion will deteriorate regional tension and crises.
According to a report released by the Foreign Ministry Media Department, he made the remark in a meeting with Kyrgyz Minister of Economy and Finance Akylbek Japarov.
Expounding on the savage moves of the Zionist regime in Lebanon, he stated that the assistance of Islamic states in reconstruction of Lebanon will alleviate the pains of the Lebanese people.
"Continuous solidarity among Islamic states will help thwart the Zionist regime's conspiracies," he added.
He also exchanged views with the Kyrgyz minister on expansion of mutual ties which he referred to as positive and constructive.
Turning to the numerous potential of the two sides to bolster relations, he hoped that continuous exchange of visits between the officials of Iran and Kyrgyzstan will optimize the level of ties.
The minister said that Kyrgyzstan can use Iran's expertise in various fields including agriculture, automobile production, road and dam building as well as power plant projects.
Mottaki referred to the historical and cultural interests of the two states as well as the close relations between the two nations and said, "Given we are from the same region and have many firm commonalties, we are prepared to further broaden our exchanges." Underlining the significance of regional cooperation through the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), he said that strengthening of ties among ECO member states will promote their stance on the regional scene and their complementary capacities.
Mottaki also stressed the importance of parliamentary cooperation between Iran and Kyrgyzstan and said that it will strengthen the two parliaments and facilitate their legislative affairs.
For his part, the Kyrgyz minister expressed satisfaction with the favorable level of ties and the trade balance between the two sides, which has increased to two times that of the previous year.
"We have exchanges in agricultural, banking and trade fields, are involved in many joint projects and have proper potentials to raise such collaboration. The joint commission can also prepare the grounds for further cooperation and strengthening of ties.
As the current head of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), he briefed Mottaki on SCO's role in raising economic cooperation between the two states and said, "Iran's presence in this organization can improve the prospect of cooperation in the interest of all member states.
"The participation of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in SCO's next summit due to be held in Kyrgyzstan can be very effective and decisive in strengthening this organization," concluded Japarov.
