Madrid, Aug 22, IRNA-Iran's 4-member students team improved four ranks compared to last year at the International Mexico Information Technology Olympiad and ranked 7th among 75 participating counties on Monday.
According to a report by the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Mexico, Iran's Vahid Liaqat gained the gold medal, Nima Ahmadi and Shayan Ehsani got silver medals, and Hessameddin Ehsani got a bronze.
With those medals, Iran's IT team ranked 7th after China, Poland, Russia, South Korea, USA, and Romania, placing itself among the top ten countries at IT field, in teen-age level.
After Iran, Ukraine, and Taiwan ranked 8th and 9th respectively.
The International Mexico Information Technology Olympiad began its activities in Merida, the capital city of Mexico's Ukatan State on August 13th, was officially wrapped up on Sunday, August 21st.
286 students from 75 countries in the world competed at the international scientific competition.
