TEHRAN, Aug. 22 (Mehr News Agency) - Iran's Critic and Theater Writers Society of Theater House honored the stage figures of the year 2005 during the society's fifth edition of celebration at the Andisheh Hall of Art Bureau in central Tehran Monday night.
The master of Iranian stage Hamid Samandarian presented gifts to actors Parviz Parastuii, Reza Kianian, and actress Roya Teimurian.
Teimurain said that one of her dreams came true and she was finally awarded by her master Samandarian.
Kianian also thanked the society saying although the country is suffering from shortage of theaters, the stage artists kept doing their jobs.
Iranian journalist Hossein Qandi was awarded the Nushin Medal, the society's most prestigious prize named after Abdolhossein Nushin, the founder of scientific theater in Iran.
The society also paid tribute to the Iranian critic and translator Parviz Taeidi.
In addition, Manuchehr Akbarlu, Amin Azimi, Mehdi Nasiri, Ali Jamshidi, Forugh Sajjadi, and Milad Payami were awarded in article, review, column, interview, report, and photography sections respectively.
The play "Tazieh: Another Narration" by Bahram Beizaii was announced the 2005 selected work.
