TEHRAN, Aug. 22 (Mehr News Agency) -- Five thousand Iranian young adults painted the world's longest painting on the theme of the Prophet Muhammad today. Representatives of the Guinness Book of World Records from Britain observed the creation of the artwork and registered the five-kilometer-long painting in the record book.
Project secretary Seyyed Mehdi Hosseini said the artwork was painted in an area stretching the five kilometers between Sarv and Sanat squares in north Tehran.
Entitled "To the Light", the project's theme was the Prophet Muhammad (S) and spreading peace and justice throughout the world, he explained.
Hosseini said that 25 photographers also participated in the "Design of the World's Longest Painting" competition on the sidelines of the project, adding, "The competition was held in two sections, analogue and digital. The winners will be awarded by the Art and Culture Organization of the Tehran Municipality."
