TEHRAN, Aug. 30 (Mehr News Agency) -- Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Director Gholamreza Aqazadeh said here on Tuesday that he will head to Moscow soon to discuss the 5+1 group's nuclear package with Russian officials. A delegation will accompany Aqazadeh in the trip.
On August 22, Iran responded to a nuclear offer by the five permanent UN Security Council members plus Germany, urging "serious talks" for the settlement of the nuclear dispute between Tehran and the West.
"Finalizing the date for starting up the Bushehr nuclear power plant and transferring nuclear fuel will also be on the agenda of the talks," Aqazadeh told the Mehr News Agency.
According to the most recent timetable set by the Russian atomic energy agency chief Sergei Kiriyenko, the Bushehr nuclear plant was to be launched by the autumn of 2006; however, Russia has postponed the inauguration for the fourth time.
The Bushehr nuclear station had been scheduled to go on stream in 2004.
According to officials Iran has been waiting in the past three years for Russia to live up to its commitments and deliver fuel for the Bushehr plant.
