TEHRAN, Dec.6 (ISNA)-The translation of the great
mythological literature book of Iran "Shahnameh" by Hakim Aboulghasem Ferdowsi was elected as the fifth 2006
best seller book by Washington Post.
Shahnameh: The Persian Book of Kings, by Abolqasem Ferdowsi (Viking). A new
translation, by Dick Davis, of the great epic of ancient Persia, opening
with the creation of the universe and closing with the Arab Muslim conquest. A
violent and beautiful work.

According to the Washington Post, the
new translation of the Shahnameh by Wick Davis had been greatly welcomed by the
readers of fiction stories.
"The Book of Kings" or "The Epic of
Kings" (alternative spellings are Shahnama, Shahnameh, Shahname, Shah-Nama,
etc.), an enormous poetic opus written by the Persian poet Ferdowsi around 1000
AD, is the national epic of the Persian speaking world. The Shahnameh tells the
mythical and historical past of Iran
from the creation of the world up until the Islamic conquest of
Iran in the 7th century.
