DOHA, Dec. 12 (Mehr News Agency) - Ali Mazaheri from Iran overcame Jasur Matchanov of Uzbekistan on points to celebrate the Asian Games 91kg heavyweight boxing title here Tuesday.
Mazaheri won the final bout 25-19, handing Iran the fourth gold of the Games.
Iran wins 1,000m K2 silver
Iran took the men's 1,000m K2 kayaking silver medal in a time of 3min 58.491sec at the 15th Asian Games here Monday.
China grabbed the gold, clocking 3:56.423 and Kazakhstan bagged bronze with a 3:59.343 record.
Sprinter Mohajer-Shojaii takes 800m bronze
Iran's 800m runner Ehsan Mohajer-Shojaii snatched the bronze medal, timing 1min 47.43sec.
Bahrain's Kenyan-born Yusuf Saad Kamel won the glittering gold, clocking 1min 45.74sec and Kuwait's Muhammad Al-Azemi took the silver.
Three boxers bag bronzes
Jassem Delavari, Mehdi Qorbani, and Mohammad Sattarpur from Iran took three bronze medals at the boxing events.
Delavari failed to advance to the final as he was outscored 31-11 by Rustam Saidov from Uzbekistan in the super heavyweight (+91kg) bout.
Kazakhstan's Mukhtarkhan Dildabekov beat Johnson Varghese of India to celebrate the title.
In the light heavyweight (81kg), Qorbani was also outpointed by Tajikistan's Djakhon Kurbanov 30-10.
Song Hak Sung of South Korea overcame the Qatari pugilist Nabah Hazm 29-15 in the final.
In the welterweight (69kg) class, Angkhan Chomphuphuang of Thailand defeated Sattarpur 36-18.
Bakhyt Sarsekvbayev from Kazakhstan beat China's Hanati Silamu 37-30, winning the title.
Iran through to 4km pursuit final
Iran's cycling team stood second and stormed into the 4km pursuit final.
The Iranian side comprising Hossein Nateqi, Abbas Saeidi-Tanha, Mehdi Sohrabi, and Amir Zargari timed 4min 16.519sec.
South Korea stood top and China finished third.
Jockey Sharifi qualifies for final
Iranian jockey Majid Sharifi got the necessary points for booking a berth in the jumping final.
Sharifi will compete with 24 riders.
