TEHRAN, Dec. 26 (Mehr News Agency) -- Production from Iran's automaker SAIPA Co. has increased by 75 percent and has reached 350,000 during the first nine months of the year (Iranian year ends March 20, 2006).
In a statement issued by the auto manufacturer on Tuesday, the company said that its share of the nation's auto market is well over 54 percent.
The company has managed to produce 316,000 automobiles in various makes and models such as SAIPA standard and SAIPA Deluxe, SAIPA 141, Rio and Xantia. The vehicles come with different options including fuel injection and gas fueled engines in sedan and hatchback versions.
Moreover, SAIPA Automobile Manufacturing Group (comprised of Pars Khodro Co. and SAIPA Co.) has also been able to manufacture 8,000 Maxima, Roniz, PK and SAIPA Caravan models during the past nine months.
Meanwhile, SAIPA Diesel and Zamiad companies -affiliated to the SAIPA Automobile Manufacturing Group- have together posted an output of around 35,000 vehicles, counting light and heavy trucks and vans. The figure is expected to grow in the last three remaining months of the year, however.
