Tehran, Dec 29, IRNA-An earthquake measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale jolted suburbs of Kahnouj city in Kerman province, southeastern Iran, Thursday night.
The seismological networks affiliated to the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, registered the quake at 23:18 hours local time (1948 GMT).
The quake was epicentered in an area measuring 27.66 degrees in latitude and 58.09 degrees in longitude, the report said.
There are no reports of any possible casualty or damage to property caused by the quake.
Iran is often hit by quakes of varying magnitudes as it sits on some of the world's most active seismic fault lines.
