Berlin, Feb 1, IRNA-German exports to Iran were up sharply in 2005, reaching 4.1 billion euros during the first 11 months of the past year compared to 3.6 billion euros during the whole year of 2004, DPA quoted a leading German trade official as saying on Wednesday.
"Iran is our (Germany's) most important trading partner in the Middle East," said Jens Nagel of the Federal Federation of German Wholesale and Foreign Trade (BGA).
Nagel added there was room for further growth of German exports to Iran, pointing to Iran's high oil income and its foreign exchange reserves.
German exports to the Iran rose by double-digit figures over the past five years.
Total bilateral trade volume stood at 4.531 billion euros during the first 11 months of 2005.
