Tehran, Feb 3, IRNA-An earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale jolted the outskirts of Lar city in the southern province of Fars in the wee hours of Friday.
According to the seismological base of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, the quake occurred at 02:17 hours local time (2247 GMT on Thursday).
There have been no reports of any casualty or damage to property caused by the quake.
Iran is often hit by quakes of varying magnitudes as it sits on some of the world's most active seismic fault lines.
