TEHRAN, Feb. 20 (Mehr News Agency) -- Six giant petrochemical projects valued at six billion dollars are slated to come on stream by spring of 2006, deputy in charge of petrochemical projects at National Petrochemical Company (NPC) said here Monday.
Seyyed Mehdi Saqafi also stated that ethane production unit of Pars Petrochemical Project has already started its pilot operation, and the extracted propane and butane are fed back to Pars Oil and Gas to be processed in full cycle. "The Olefin 9 and 10 of the unit, to turn it into ethylene, are yet to be completed," he added.
"Aromatic, Methanol-4, and Urea and Ammonia projects are near completion, and construction of seawater intake is the last step on the way which has been contracted to Sadra Company," he elaborated. Annual production of five million tons, 650,000 tons, and one million are assigned to the said projects respectively.
Mobin and Assaluyeh-6 Dock are other important ventures among the 6; nitrogen and oxygen are the chief products of the Mobin supervised by German experts and it is expected to be operational by yearend.
