Tehran, Feb 27, IRNA-A member of Iran's nuclear negotiating team said on Monday that Tehran was expecting a positive report by IAEA Director-General Mohamed ElBaradei on the country's peaceful nuclear activities.
ElBaradei's report will be made available to 35 member countries of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on Monday (today) or Tuesday.
Talking to IRNA, the nuclear negotiator said the report will be the basis of decisions that will be made during the March 6 meeting of the IAEA Board of Governors.
The Islamic Republic of Iran has had appropriate cooperation with the IAEA, he reiterated, adding that ElBaradei's deputy for safeguard agreements, Olli Heinonen, is currently visiting Iran.
Based on consultations made by Iran with the international watchdog, Tehran expects ElBaradei's report on Iran's peaceful nuclear activities to be "positive and realistic," he said.
Observers believe Heinonen's visit to Tehran is of special significance in view of its timing, that is, a day or two before ElBaradei is expected to release the draft of his report to members of the IAEA Governing Board.
