Tehran, Jan 9, IRNA-An earthquake measuring 3.7 on the Richter scale hit the city of Zarand in the southeastern province of Kerman Sunday night.
According to the seismological base of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, the quake occurred at 21:47 hours local time (18:17 GMT).
The report, moreover, said that the quake was felt in an area measuring 56.49 degrees in longitude and 20.76 degrees in latitude.
There is no report of any casualty or damage to property caused by the quake.
Quakes of varying magnitudes often occur in Iran, which is situated on some of the world's most active seismic faultlines.
