Tehran, Jan 15, IRNA-Iran exported vehicles valued at dlrs 94.458 million in the first three quarters of the current Iranian year (startedMarch 21), Iran Custom Administration reported here Saturday.
"The figure is 67 percent higher than the same period last year," it added.
It said that the vehicles were exported to Syria with dlrs 58.460 million, as well as dlrs 4.404 million to Saudi Arabia, dlrs 3.250 million to Russia, dlrs three million to Egypt, and dlrs 2.671 million to Ukraine.
The exports to these countries stood at dlrs 71.723 million which comprise 76 percent of the total vehicle exports.
Also, in the same period over 44.675 million of spare-parts were exported abroad, of which dlrs 18 million were exported to France, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Syria, the report added.
The Deputy Director of Iran's giant car manufacturing company Iran-Khodro Industrial Group for Export and International Affairs has also said the company's exports stood at dlrs 115 million in the first eight months of the current Iranian year (started March21).
Alireza Mirzaei said that the figure includes vehicles, parts and technical and engineering services exports.
He said that the figure has been unprecedented in the history of exports by the company.
"The exports will top dlrs 200 million by the end of the year," he reckoned He also said that Iran-Khodro offers a better verity of products compared to its domestic competitors. The company has major plans to catapult its share of international export markets by 2010.
Mirzaei added that the company exported over dlrs 10 million of parts last year saying the figure is expected to double in the current year.
