Baghdad, Jan 16, IRNA-Charge d'Affaires of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Baghdad Hassan Kazemi-Qomi said here Monday that Iran has agreed with the opening of Iraq's Military Attache Office in Tehran.
Speaking to IRNA, Kazemi-Qomi added, "Tehran's agreement was announced following receiving a request made by Iraqi Government, aimed at pursuing the objectives of boosting bilateral military cooperation."
The IRI Charge d'Affaires in Baghdad added, "Iran's agreement with the proposal was announced in a meeting with Iraq's Defense Minister Sadoun al-Dalimi on Sunday."
He said, "Al-Dalimi during the meeting considered the military cooperation between the two countries, and having safe shared borders of great significance for both countries and emphasized that Iraq's neighbors should play a decisive role in shaping up the new Iraqi defensive force."
Iran's Charge d'Affaires in Baghdad added, "In the meeting we agreed on the need for establishment of a joint committee to see into the implementation of the bilateral military agreements signed during Iraqi Prime Minster's last summer visit to Iran.
Back to the upcoming opening of an Iraqi Military Attache Office in Tehran, Kazemi-Qomi said, "Iran, too, is naturally entitled to open its Military Attache Office in Baghdad in due time."
