Ahvaz, Khuzestan Prov, Jan 24, IRNA-Six people were killed and at least 40 others wounded Tuesday in two bomb explosions in the southwestern Iranian city of Ahvaz, capital of oil-rich Khuzestan province, the governor general of Ahvaz said.
The first bomb ripped through the city government's Natural Resources Department at Golestan boulevard at 10:15 a.m. (06:45 GMT). Another bomb exploded close to a bank in Shahid Chamran (Kianpars) street in the city.
Mohammad-Jafar Sarami told IRNA here Tuesday the six were all martyred in the explosion near Saman Bank, adding that the bomb explosion at the government building claimed no lives.
He added that those injured, one of which was said to be in critical condition, were taken to Razi, Golestan, Imam Khomeini and Naft hospitals.
