Tehran, July 1, IRNA-An earthquake with an intensity of 3.9 on the Richter scale hit the vicinity of Qeshm island in the southern province of Hormuzgan on Saturday.
According to the seismological base of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, the quake occurred at 16:49 hours local time (1319 GMT) on Saturday.
The epicenter of the quake was recorded in an area measuring 55.88 degrees longitude and 26.99 degrees latitude, the report added.
Another earthquake measuring 3.7 on the Richter scale hit outskirts of the city of Orumiyeh in the northwestern province of West Azarbaijan early Sunday.
The seismological base of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University registered the quake at 00:36 hours local time (2106 GMT on Saturday).
The quake was epicentered in an area measuring 45.05 degrees in longitude and 37.35 degrees in latitude, the report added.
There are no reports of any casualty or damage to property caused by the quakes.
Iran is often hit by quakes of varying magnitudes as it sits on some of the world's most active seismic fault lines.
