Tehran, July 7, IRNA-An earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale hit the island of Qeshm in the southern province of Hormuzgan Friday.
The seismological base of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University registered the quake at 06:58 hours local time (0328 GMT).
The quake was epicentered in an area measuring 55.61 degrees in longitude and 26.74 degrees in latitude, the report added.
There are no reports of any casualty or damage to property caused by the quake.
Iran is often hit by quakes of varying magnitudes as it sits on some of the world's most active seismic faultlines.
