Tehran, July 9, IRNA-Two earthquakes measuring 4.5 and 3.5 on the Richter scale jolted the cities of Bam and Kalat-e Naderi in the southeastern and northeastern provinces of Kerman and Khorassan Razavi early Sunday and Saturday night, respectively.
According to the seismological base of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, the 4.5-degree quake was registered at 00:31 hours local time (2101 GMT on Saturday).
The tremor was epicentered in an area measuring 58.51 degrees in longitude and 29.23 degrees in latitude, the report added.
The second quake, with an intensity of 3.5, was registered at 21:31 hours local time (1801 GMT).
The 3.5-degree quake was epicentered in an area measuring 59.53 degrees in longitude and 37.07 degrees in latitude.
There are no reports of any casualty or damage to property caused by the quakes.
Iran is often hit by quakes of varying magnitudes as it sits on some of the world's most active seismic fault lines.
