Tehran, July 12, IRNA-An earthquake measuring 4 on the Richter scale hit the city of Sepidan in the southern province of Fars in the wee hours of Wednesday.
The seismological base of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University registered the quake at 03:07 hours local time (2337 GMT on Tuesday).
The quake was epicentered in an area in the city measuring 51.99 degrees in longitude and 30.4 degrees in latitude, the report added.
There are no reports of any casualty or damage to property caused by the quake.
Iran is often hit by quakes of varying magnitudes as it sits on some of the world's most active seismic faultlines.
