"Achaemenid Era", "Agrarian Transition", "Ancient Art", "Archaeology", "Cinema", "Demography", "Education", "Ethnicity", "Far East", "Foreign Perceptions", "Gender", "Intellectual Life", "Internet", "Languages", "Literature", "Pahlavi Era", "Public Opinion", "Qajar Era", "Reconstruction", "Regional Issues", "Religion", "Seljuk Era", "Science and Technology (Ancient and Modern)", "Urban Changes", "Zoroastrianism", "Women Writers", and "Music" are among the biennial's topics.

Several meetings with famous writers, a book fair, a performance of music of the Qajar era, as well as a surreal and comic theater performance on the events of the Constitutional Revolution are also on the agenda and will be held on the sidelines of the event.

The conference is organized by International Society for Iranian Studies (ISIS), Iran Heritage Foundation (IHF), and the London Middle East Institute (LMEI).

The previous editions were held in the U.S. in the suburb of Washington and this is the first time a European state plays the host.

The main reason behind the shift is the visa problem the U.S. has caused for participants particularly the Iranians.
