TEHRAN, July 24 (Mehr News Agency) - Iran imported 2,976 vehicles worth $60,484,000 in the first three months of the current Iranian calendar year 1385, starting March 21, the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) said.
During the period, the nation exported various passenger cars and other vehicles valued at about $18,673,000 and $28,871,000, respectively. Syria, Russia, Kuwait, Azerbaijan Republic and Guinea are the major importers of Iran's automotive products.
Based on the report, Iran's export of the passenger cars during the period has declined by 30 percent but, that of the other vehicles increased by 36 percent.
The report also noted that 7,818,000 tons of automotive spare parts worth $20,204,000 were exported from the country. The figure is indicative of 25 percent and 87 percent growth correspondingly in terms of weight and value.
The nation's export of tiers and tubes during the first three months of the year has decreased by seven percent and hit $3,290,000, the report also explained.
