TEHRAN, June 21 (Mehr News Agency) -- Iran imported 369,307 cellular phones worth $63,845,000 in the first two months of the current Iranian year (March and April).
Iran's imports of mobile phone in the past year (ending March 20) hit 3,348,709 sets valued at around $291,850,000, the Persian service of Iran's Labor News Agency (ILNA) quoted a report by the Islamic Republic of Iran's Customs Administration as saying on Wednesday.
The tariff approved for the cell phones imported from March 21 to April 24 will be set at four percent or 60 percent, awaiting ratification by the Presidential Office, the report noted.
A commission comprising of representatives from the ministries of commerce, industries and mines, agricultural Jihad, economy as well as the Customs Administration, Central Bank of Iran and the Chamber of Commerce and Industries and Mines is tasked with setting the tariff rates on the nation's imports.
