TEHRAN, June 25 (Mehr News Agency) -– The agreements signed between Iranian and Iraqi businessmen hit one billion dollars. The accords were reached during the course of an exhibition of the Iranian goods and products held in Irbil, Iraq.

Over 90 percent of the firms and companies that took part in the exhibition succeeded in signing trade agreements with the Iraqi side or managed to grant licenses for the production of their products in the neighboring country, the Persian service of Fars News Agency said.

The eye-catching volume of the agreements reached during the exhibition is indicative of the success of such trade fairs held abroad, the report noted.

Construction materials, foodstuffs, heavy industrial machineries and products, household appliances, computers, office furniture, technical and engineering services, plastic products, toiletries, cosmetics and medicines produced in eight Iranian provinces were showcased at the exposition.

The five-day exhibition held from June 13-18 drew over 80,000 visitors including Iraqi and Iranian officials.
