Kerman, March 1, IRNA-Some 1,400 residential units were either partially or totally destroyed in Faryab section of Kahnou, in the southeastern province of Kerman, by the 5.8-degree earthquake which hit the area Tuesday morning.
Hossein Moslemi, governor of Kahnouj, told IRNA that six people were also injured by the earthquake.
Several relief teams have been despatched to the quake-hit areas, he said, and added more buildings may have been destroyed in Tuesday morning's strong quake.
