TEHRAN, Mar. 5 (Mehr News Agency) -- French auto makers Peugeot and Citroen will soon open an office in Iran to purchase auto parts from Iranian producers.
In their bid to supply required automobile parts from non-European sources, the auto manufacturers Peugeot and Citroen have decided to open an office in Iran to facilitate their purchases from Iranian producers, the Persian service of Iranian Students News Agency ISNA quoted chairman of the Iranian Auto Part Producers Association as saying here on Sunday.
Based on their studies, the major French car manufacturers are considering to purchase some of their required auto parts from India, China, Iran, Turkey and Brazil. However, in line with this objective, the companies are evaluating the Iranian producers' works, Najafi-Manesh said.
He also pointed to the establishment of a joint committee comprised of both Iranian and French experts in order to pave the way for the export of Iranian-made automobile parts.
Peugeot has already asked a number of the Iranian producers to submit their price lists.
